  • Fictional copters

Well, topic says for itself, I guess. What about your favoutite concepts of any rotary wing machines?
A little personal top-3 for example:

    1. Kamov-65 "Twinblade" aka "Каратель" from the "Red Alert 3". "No great or good, no just cause" - only for epicness and brutality. Subordinate to on-board politruk, rips and tears both outer and inner enemies of Soviet Power with large-caliber MGs and URs.

(Mil-24 after large portion of anaboliс and butyrate? Indeed!)

    2. Kamov-69 "Warthog" from the "Endwar Online". When Ka-65 "Howler" from the original "Endwar" was just a replica of "Black Shark", Online-version gave few strange-but-pretty concepts. Such as that.

    Yes, "glassful" makes all better.

    3. Kamov-58 "Black Ghost". Fantasy of model-kits producers about guise of "stealth helicopter". Concept is futuristic as hölle.

        Oh, "Blue Thunder". Nice enough.
If we talk about crafts for police or special services, can't not to mention SH-187 from the DX.

"...long range, variable mission-capable rotary aircraft, realized to its fullest extent in the SH-187 "stealth helicopter." The production model SH-187 features a revolutionary engine powered by HIGH-EFFICIENCY ETHANOL FUEL CELLS with a flight range of over 9000 miles depending upon atmospheric conditions, and an extension of the adaptive armor technology that renders it INVISIBLE across 97% of the non-visible electromagnetic spectrum".
Tl;dr, that's BLACK HELICOPTER in the shell.

Update is great, so it's time to hail it with new portion of crazy great and great-crazy concepts.

            1. Unnamed (what a pity!) soviet siege helicopter from the "Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge". "Westwood" recalled that helicopter is most soviet of all soviet battle machines (after "Apocalypse" tanks, of course) and decided to do something.
Minenwerfer-teams in future updates for "Heliborne"? Oh, come on! Who needs in drop of mortar troops if your chopper gets his own howitzer?

            2. Mil-55 "Locust" from the "Endwar". Result of some tricky relationship between Mi-24 and Mi-8 - bastard, which is heavy enough to transport tanks. Really heavy. Goddamn really heavy.

Well, from East to West, I guess - time to add something with stars and stripes.

              1. First of all, Helibird (Винтокрыл) aka VB-02 VTOL craft - air cavalry of USA in the world of "Fallout".

Mobile, fast (and grim as hell - just look at this design), after war of 2077 it's the only one who rules american skies.

              2. V-120 "Valkyrie" from "Endwar" - clear illustration of what will you get if you feed your "Osprey" too much. It's big, it's heavy and it's goddamnit quad-rotor VTOL.

Tanks from A to B? No problem.

imperial Valkyrie assault transporters and Vulture Gunships from warhammer 40k
                (vulture left valkyrie right)

they are no 100% helis but they have the excact same role
they just use more "modern" tech to stay in the air.

Well, same stuff as famous ORCA-fighter from Tiberium saga. Wait, still no ORCA in that thread?
                  Re-ealy?
                  Here we go then.

ORCA is one of the most significant battle units of (goddamnt) GDI. Using turbofan engines and being more like VTOL-plane than helicopter, it still was main competitor to Brotherhood's "Apache"s and "Harpy"s in First and Second Tiberium Wars, playing the same role.

And well, what about NOD's "Harpy".

Descendant of "Apache" - or "Apache", that was made without using of wood-axe but with long unsold fenestron - developed by Brotherhood to rip and tear "recruits of global capitalism": mobile, agile and stealth enough to follow military doctrine of NOD.

Not fictional copter in nutshell, but still sort of:

Author's vision of developed Mil-28, made for american DoD in 80's. Kinda lovely look, mixed predatory elongation of real 28's and suppressive solidity of 24's.

Fictional stuff of epic story - futuristic japanese gunship "Fuujin", created by artist from Singapore, was taken by chinese press as real concept.
